I am very proud of my site and work long and hard to make sure that only genuine breeders and not puppy farmers take advantage of the benefits. I police the site personally and remove any adverts that are not suitable. This site was set up to help people who love their dogs and want only the best for the puppies they breed.

Puppy Planet began as an idea in October 2001 after I had my first litter of Labrador puppies. I was disappointed with the response from local advertising and the strange phone calls I received - one lady rang me at 11.30pm to enquire about a pup, another demanded the price before I could even speak. I realised I was not reaching the right people for my puppies and that I would have to advertise elsewhere - the internet seemed to be the answer.

I then started to look for somewhere suitable but the websites I found were out of date and unused and I realized I needed to create my own site. That way I would be able to advertise in exactly the way I wanted with complete control over my advert. I would also be able to help other breeders who like me wanted only the best homes for their puppies but didn't know where to find them. I contacted a local web design company and in February 2002 Puppy Planet was created.

Within months I could see that the website was working to put people in touch with other breeders. In 2003 I had my second litter of Labradors and all eight puppies were sold via my website.

The other benefits to running the site were the people I was lucky enough to meet. I had been interested in showing for a number of years visiting Crufts annually. I had also been to 'exemption' shows with my dogs - now called companion shows they give novice show people and pet owners the chance to win a rosette and have fun with their dogs.

I started to attend ringcraft classes and shortly after this entered my first open show. My first show Lab was not a perfect specimen by any means but I loved him and was proud to take him into the ring. The more shows I went to the more I realized this was where I wanted to be. After going to the Leeds Championship Show at Harewood House I decided I would take the plunge, buy a puppy from a successful show kennel and give it a whirl at Championship level. I was quite nervous about entering shows with such experienced exhibitors and once again Puppy Planet came to my rescue. Out of the blue I received an email from a well known Labrador kennel. I was quick to take up their offer of help and advice and spent many happy hours traveling all over the UK in their company. I entered many shows and although I was never placed at a Champ show my girl won her classes at several open and limit shows.

In November 2005 I was lucky enough to get a fabulous black bitch who qualified for Crufts in 2007 and 2008 after being placed at Champ shows.

Over the last six years Puppy Planet has gone from strength to strength and I have met some fantastic people. The measure of my success is in the comments and emails I have received over the years from satisfied customers.

Thank you for supporting Puppy Planet over the years, and I'd just like to say we now offer our service completely free to visitors and advertisers alike and I hope you enjoy your visit.

Best Wishes
